Twins, Kay and Tay, have lived in a small rough and remote poor village all their lives, but they have both dreamed of something more. To save each other and find their freedom they must decided if they will follow their hearts and dreams into an unknown and alien environment, or stay as they are for ever. Their home country is on the brink of war and it may be up to the twins to put their growing differences aside to help prevent the assassination that would tip the balance in the enemies favor. Kay and Tay, and the companions they gain, will have to face their fears and each other to keep their new world from falling to pieces. 

 The land of Safiyya has been at peace for generations, but now darkness is nibbling at the edges of the Empire. That darkness brings with it new magic and ignites old grudges. Maddox and his friends are charged with finding the Queen’s Emerald. A near mythical jewel that may hold the key to finding a source of power that can force the darkness back. Whispers of the Emerald’s location have been trickling down from the north near the Mountains of Sorrow. Maddox and Fen are sent to investigate and, if possible, find the Emerald; but they are not the only ones searching for it.
