Architecture
The world of man made objects around us can be beautiful and unique. Whether around the corner in your hometown or around the corner in a new town on another continent, you can see some amazing feats of human engineering and art combined into beautiful structures. Architecture is how each age and culture comes together into a physical representation of values and can be used to express wealth and power, as well as humility and a partnership with nature.
Objects of Reverence
Things that become an intimate part of our lives often pertain to important aspects of culture, identity, or religion.
These things become “Objects of Reverence”.
They are objects that focus our attention, center our thoughts, and draw us into meditation or reflection. Often Objects of Reverence are related to religion, or history, helping us to remember the past and form goals for the future.
Vanishing Point
The vanishing point is important in art and photography. It allows the creator to draw attention to a central point. This point, or points, can be on the page or far off of the page. However the goal is to create an image with lines of sight that would all converge at a point somewhere.
A vanishing point can often be found in repetitive items, and even everyday things. You just have to see what way things point.
Much of the time beauty cannot be categorized. And it would take time away from beauty to try and fit it into one box. So sometimes you just need an extra box for what doesn’t fit elsewhere.
